About Michael Reinwald

Known for an abstract pop art style, he built his early reputation selling paintings on the streets of Soho and Williamsburg, New York, as a way of establishing his art practice.

Reinwald is also a self-published novelist, releasing his debut book "Animals Don't Pray" after several years of writing across Thailand, Costa Rica, and California. Compared to gonzo-era influences like Bukowski and Hunter Thompson, the novel follows an antihero on a reckless, off-the-grid journey through 1990s counterculture. True to his DIY instincts, Reinwald has sold both his art and his writing directly on the street, trusting his own sell over conventional publishing paths.

His work, on canvas and on the page, is driven by impulsive creative energy, and a refusal to stay inside the lines.
